Yonex-Sunrise India Open 2025 Guide: Details About Live Streaming, Indian Players, and Dates

The third edition of the Yonex-Sunrise India Open BWF World Tour Super 750, which takes place from January 14–19, 2025, will see host India send their largest-ever team.

Olympic champions Viktor Axelsen, An Se Young, and world No. 1 Shi Yuqi are among the top competitors, and this edition is expected to be an exciting demonstration of talent and accuracy.

As the competition marks its third year, it will also be a mingling pot of fandom and excellence, bringing together the top players and ardent supporters in a real badminton extravaganza.

The Badminton Association of India has conducted this Super 750 event as a flag-ship competition. Part of the BWF World Tour, the tournament was promoted to Super 750 in 2023 and will take place at Indira Gandhi Stadium’s KD Jadhav Indoor Hall. It offers a USD 950,000 prize pool and 11,000 points for the winners.

Host India will receive 21 entries for this year’s BWF World Tour Super 750 event, including three men’s singles, four women’s singles, two men’s doubles, eight women’s doubles, and four mixed doubles.

With Asian Games bronze medallist HS Prannoy reaching the men’s singles last four stages in 2024 and Asian Games men’s doubles gold medallists Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy reaching the men’s doubles final, India entered 14 men in each of the last two Super 750 editions.

In addition to Chirag-Satwik and Prannoy, India will be considering two-time Olympic medallist and previous global women’s singles champion PV Sindhu and 2022 men’s singles winner Lakshya Sen to contend for the coveted crown.

Only two of the top-20 rated men’s singles players will be absent from action in New Delhi, whilst 14 of the top-20 players will compete in the women’s singles draw, indicating the caliber of the competition.

Leading the men’s doubles lineup are Liang Weikeng and Wang Chang of China, who won silver at the Olympics in Paris, Malaysia’s Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik, who won bronze in Paris, Kim Astrup and Anders Rasmussen of Denmark, and Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto of Indonesia.
