Women’s Asia Cup 2024: On Friday, July 19, in Sri Lanka, the ninth edition of the Women’s Asia Cup is scheduled to begin.
For the fifth time in a row, eight teams will compete in the competition, which is set to take place in the T201 format.
The crucial competition will serve as the Women in Blue’s training assignment for the forthcoming T20 World Cup, which is set to take place in Bangladesh from October to November.
With seven titles, India is the most successful team in the history of the competition. They also hold the title as the reigning winners, having won the competition’s previous edition in 2022.
Structure
For the first round, a total of eight teams are split into two groups of four teams each.
Each group’s top two teams advance to the semi-finals.
On July 28, the competition final will take place at Dambulla’s Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium.
