Thanks to the courageous knock of Brooke Halliday, who made a great 60-ball-51 to help the White Ferns record a decent total on the board, Sophie Devine’s squad set a target of 157 runs for the English side in the first game.
England’s chase was made easier by Tammy Beaumont and Maia Bouchier, who put up 137 runs for the first wicket. They finished in 21.2 overs with nine wickets remaining.
In the subsequent game, New Zealand also elected to bat first and amassed 141 runs, which the English team easily knocked down in 24.3 overs. While Maia Bouchier finished her century, Sophie Ecclestone took a fifer.
