Las Vegas Raiders proprietor Mark Davis said construction groups are working against the clock as they mount a last push to finish Allegiant Stadium in front of a July 31 deadline.
Speaking Monday morning on ESPN Radio 1100’s “The Press Box,” co-hosted by Las Vegas Review-Journal sports columnist Ed Graney, Davis addressed how groups have worked around the constraints made by the coronavirus pandemic.
“You think everything is going great and everything is on time, and all of a sudden real-life steps in the way,” Davis said. “You have to be prepared for those types of issues.”
Mortenson-McCarthy detailed a week ago that 15 trade laborers on the project are right now home with the coronavirus.
A third shift, in the overnight hours, was organized to allow for the more than 2,000 workers on the site to have the option to do their daily work while clinging to social distancing policies set out by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Groups have been accomplishing arranging work around the stadium while installing a prefabricated ticket counter on the north end and including a “Welcome to Allegiant Stadium” lit up sign on the north segment, which will serve as the fundamental entrance.
Inside the $2 billion facilities, UNLV’s artificial turf field was spread out, with seat installation, take a shot at the Al Davis Memorial torch and suite and the club gets done with proceeding inside.
With under two months until the July 31 substantial completion date, Davis said it’ll likely be a close finish.
“The least important thing in life is the score at halftime,” Davis remarked. “Until you get the job done, you just don’t know. When we do that ribbon-cutting (ceremony) you may see me wipe a bead of sweat off my brow.”
