Premier surfers from throughout the country competed in the 5th Indian Open of Surfing, which took place in Mangaluru. The competitive surfing skills of the surfers from Tamil Nadu were demonstrated when they won in all four categories: Men’s Open, Women’s Open, Groms Boys & U-16, and Groms Girls & U-16.
Encouraging both experienced and novice surfers, the three-day event provided a venue for competition. Under the auspices of the Mantra Surf Club, the Surfing Swami Foundation organized the contest. Along with other sponsors, the Karnataka government and the New Mangalore Port Authority supported the event.
Men’s Open Champion Ajeesh Ali Wins
Ajeesh Ali, a competitor in last year’s Paris Olympics qualifiers, won the Men’s Open division. He is the new champion because of his unique combination of experience and talent.

By triumphantly defending her titles in the Women’s Open and Groms Girls & U-16 divisions, Kamali Moorthi extended her winning streak. Her performance in these categories is consistently strong, highlighting her supremacy.

Tayin Arun won the Groms Boys & U-16 division, extending Tamil Nadu’s remarkable streak of victories at the competition.
Tamil Nadu surfers’ triumph at the 5th Indian Open of Surfing is evidence of the region’s developing talent pool. Surfers still have a big stage to display their abilities in the Mangaluru tournament.
