Smriti Mandhana Breaks The Record For The Most Runs Scored By An Indian Woman In A Bilateral ODI Series Between IND-W vs SA-W

Smriti Mandhana, the opener for the India national women’s cricket team, achieved a new milestone when she became the first Indian woman to score more runs in a bilateral One-Day International series.

Mandhana amassed 343 runs in the three-match series played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Sunday, June 23. Her innings came in the third and final One-Day International (ODI) against South Africa women, when she scored 90 runs off 83 balls.

The left-hander had previously been the first Indian woman to score hundreds in back-to-back ODI contests. But on Sunday, Mandhana missed his opportunity to become the second batter in history to score three consecutive hundreds in one-day internationals by ten runs.

She tied Mithali Raj’s record of seven hundreds, the most for an Indian woman, with her century in the second ODI. In a three-game ODI series in women’s cricket, Mandhana became the highest scorer with 343 runs in three games.

With her 343 runs, she overtook her fellow opponent Laura Wolvaardt, who earlier this year had scored 335 runs in three matches against the women of Sri Lanka.
