At K.K. Hakku Stadium in Jammu, Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala (RCF) won the National Level Invitational Hockey tournament. Punjab Police and Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala squared off in the championship match. Excellent skill and well-planned moves characterized both teams’ visually appealing hockey games.
In the most exciting match, RCF and Punjab Police each scored three goals during the entire duration of play. The game was decided in a shootout, with RCF scoring three goals to Punjab Police’s one goal. Ramandeep Singh Olympian of Punjab Police was named player of the tournament, while Sanjay Kumar of RCF played superbly and was named man of the match.
Ansuya Jamwal, Additional DC, and Mohd Ashraf were the guests of honor, while Bhupinder Kumar, Secretary to Government PWD, was the chief guest and Sekar Manoharan, Treasurer of Hockey India, was the special guest of the occasion.
During his speech, Bhupinder Kumar thanked the Sikh Progressive Front for organizing such a large-scale event, which included participation from top national teams as well as international athletes and Olympians. Additionally, he emphasized that the organizer should make it a routine to plan outdoor sporting events with the active participation of government representatives.
The hockey tournament was overseen by Hockey India officials, with assistance from Baljit Coach, Soniya, Jagjit Singh & D Singh Hockey Coach, Coach Sports Council, and veteran hockey player Satvir Singh Satti.
Sikh Progressive Front (SPF) president Balvinder Singh, organising secretary Manjit Singh, and soodan Rajinder Singh were praised by the dignitaries. A cash prize of Rs 51,000 was given to the winning team and Rs 30,000 to the runners-up team by the chief guest during the closing ceremony.
