In the first round of the ₹ 50 lakh Tata Steel PGTI Players Championship presented by the Haryana government and Panchkula Golf Club on Wednesday, Mysore’s Yash Chandra topped the list with a seven-under five.
The 26-year-old, who finished 11th in PGTI last week, continued his good form with error-free efforts at his best places where he has scored some low points in the past.
Chandigarh’s Ranjit Singh, meanwhile, was the highest-ranked Tricity golfer as he finished fifth with 68 points.
PGTI Order of Merit Leader Karandeep Kochhar, Abhijit Singh Chadha and veteran Amritinder Singh as well as Chikkarangappa and M Dharmachi’s Bangalore duo, Kolkata’s Shankar Das and Mhow are among the eight players who are ranked sixth with the points of Players of. -Om Prakash Chauhan and Delhi’s Kartik Sharma.
Delhi’s Rajit Khan’s PGTI Order of Merit Champion, who finished seventh last week, also bagged five-under with points and finished the first day with Kolkata’s Suneet Chaurasia and Gurugram’s Veer Ahlawat.
Last champion Akshay Sharma of Chandigarh and last week’s PGTI winner Manu Gandas of Gurugram were both ranked 26th with 72 points.
