Christian McCaffrey was unfortunately not the only starter to beat the Carolina Panthers in this week’s “Thursday Night Football” match against the Houston Texans. In the third quarter, rookie cornerback Jesse Horn went down with a foot injury and was taken to the locker room.
After the 24-9 victory, Panthers head coach Matt Ruley said Horn “broke some bones in his leg”, according to NFL Network’s James Palmer, making it difficult to predict his recovery time at the moment. According to Le Theletic’s Joe Person, he doesn’t believe it’s a Lisfrank injury, Rule said.
While backpacking in the coverage alone, the horn went down. He immediately called to the side for help and was helped off the field without putting any weight on his right foot. Once aside, he was taken to the locker room.
Horn tackled the two together before exiting the matchup. The son of former star wideout Joe Horn was selected by the Panthers as No. 8 outside of South Carolina in the 2021 NFL Draft. He immediately took over as an outside starter and recorded two combined matches in Week 1 against the New York Jets and the first hurdle of his career against the New Orleans Saints in Week 2.
