In the first match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, Namibia defeated Oman in a thrilling Super Over match, riding on an individual effort. Namibia will look for a somewhat stronger showing at bat against Scotland in their tournament-opening match on Thursday, June 6, in Barbados. David Wiese defeated Oman with a pivotal effort in the one-over qualifier. While Scotland’s opening partnership with England was , they managed to score 90 runs in the first 10 overs without losing a wicket.
Scotland will be a slightly tougher opponent than Oman, therefore Namibia will need to be on their game. Given how nasty the left-armer was in his opening period against Oman, Ruben Trumpelmann vs. Scotland openers would be a thrilling match. It was very difficult to play those inswinging deliveries into the right-hander at that length and pace. Though Scotland’s top left-right combo may be able to play it better.
“We have a terrific game on our hands if the hitters from Namibia put on their socks.”
