Beginning on December 11 at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, the eagerly awaited 2024 Lanka T10 Super League will usher in a new era of Sri Lankan cricket.
The competition, which will include six vibrant teams, will present a thrilling style of cricket at the scenic Kandy location. The tournament’s administrators have formally released the full rosters for each of the six clubs, which include a remarkable blend of local and international talent.
The league has put together a roster of exceptional players from every franchise. Top players including former Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews, emerging sensation Matheesha Pathirana, versatile Kamindu Mendis, Pakistan’s Asif Ali, and explosive opener Jason Roy will be part of the Colombo Jaguars, which are led by legendary spinner Chaminda Vaas.
Under the guidance of seasoned coach Graham Ford, Galle Marvels has a strong team that includes English sensations Luke Wood and Alex Hales, pace bowler Binura Fernando, explosive Bhanuka Rajapaksa, and spin wizard Maheesh Theekshana. Dasun Shanaka leads the Hambantota Bangla Tigers, who are bolstered by Shevon Daniel, Afghan Hazratullah Zazai, and local legend Kusal Janith Perera.
Under James Foster’s strategic direction, the Jaffna Titans have a strong roster that includes the talented Muhammad Amir, the dynamic Kusal Mendis, and the adaptable Charith Asalanka. With the help of international talent George Munsey, veteran Dinesh Chandimal, and talented opener Pathum Nissanka, the Kandy Bolts, directed by coach Sachith Pathirana, form an outstanding team.
Under Julian Wood’s leadership, Nuwara Eliya Kings complete the tournament with a potent team that includes Benny Howell, Kyle Mayers, fast bowler Kasun Rajitha, Avishka Fernando, Saurabh Tiwary, and the gifted Dushan Hemantha.
On December 11th, the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium will host a stunning tripleheader on the tournament’s opening day. The tournament opening between the Jaffna Titans and the Hambantota Bangla Tigers starts at 4:00 PM local time (10:30 AM GMT).
Each team in the Lanka T10 Super League 2024 will play seven league games, playing twice against two other opponents and once against three other teams.
At 6:15 PM local time (12:45 PM GMT), Nuwara Eliya Kings will play Colombo Jaguars in the day’s second match. At 8:30 PM local time (15:00 GMT), Kandy Bolts and Galle Marvels will square off in a thrilling encounter to end the day. It is anticipated that the fast-paced T10 format would produce exciting matches and highlight the development of cricket in the area.
