Justin Fields, Trey Lance fusing Kyle Shanahan drills into Pro Days

In the event that the 49ers are as of now set on taking Alabama quarterback Mac Jones No. 3 generally, they’re making a huge effort to attempt to work themselves out of it.

NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero on Monday said on NFL Network that Ohio State’s Justin Fields and North Dakota State’s Trey Lance will both blend in certain drills explicit to 49ers lead trainer Kyle Shanahan’s practices with an end goal to reenact a private exercise.

“What those quarterbacks are going to do on the field is going to be a mix of their original Pro Day, mixed with some drills and throws that Kyle Shanahan uses in practice,” Pelissero said. “In other words, no, you cannot do private workouts this year, but this is about as close as you’re going to get to what a private workout otherwise would look like.”

It is anything but a gigantic shock to see those quarterbacks consolidate those components into their second Pro Days given the manner in which Jones added more boot activities and tosses on the hurry to help show a portion of his physicality during his second Pro Day.

While Pro Days regularly don’t convey a huge load of weight for top possibilities, they could be distinction producers for the 49ers who haven’t had the chance to work out secretly with one or the other Lance or Fields yet. Also Lance has played just one game since the 2019 season, and San Francisco may have to see him up near help prove what they saw on film.

The 49ers QB talk factory hasn’t quit churning since they exchanged up to No. 3 in the draft. Solid Pro Days from Lance and Fields could end up get it going for conclusive week-in addition to paving the way to the draft.
