The Japan Open 2024 draws the attention of badminton enthusiasts as the buzz from the Paris Olympics fades. The BWF 750 competition will take place at the Yokohama Arena starting on Tuesday, August 20 and running through August 25, 2024. This is the complete account of the historic occasion.

The Nippon Badminton Association has been holding the Japan Open championships since 1977. The 2024 Japan Open is the 21st tournament on the current BWF World Tour.

This year’s competition attracts badminton talents from all around the world with an alluring $850,000 prize fund. The men’s doubles champions will receive $62,900, while the men’s singles winner will receive $59,500.

A number of celebrities have pulled out of the 2024 Japan Open citing, among other things, Olympic tiredness. The only remaining Indian player competing in the men’s singles tournament in Yokohama is No. 3 Kiran George.
