Their partnership was of 120 runs for the second wicket before Raina was dismissed for 53 runs. No other batsman was able to score decently and CSK managed to score 170 runs for the fall of 5 wickets. du Plessis scored 96 runs.

KXIP was off to a flying start. They scored 68 runs in the powerplay. Gayle and Rahul had a partnership of 108 runs for the first wicket. Both of them were dismissed in the 11th over. Rahul scored at a strike rate of around 200 and Gayle just played the role of the anchor from one end. After they were dismissed Pooran scored decently and KXIP won the game by 6 wickets.
