This was Hyderabad’s last home game and also David Warner’s last game in this year’s IPL. Kings XI Punjab won the toss and elected to field first.
Warner maintained his consistency and scored 81 runs off 56 balls. No other batsman apart from him was able to score big. SRH scored 21 runs at a loss of 6 wickets.
Kings XI Punjab didn’t have a good start as Gayle was dismissed for just 4 runs. The other opener KL Rahul has maintained his good form in this year’s IPL. He scored 79 runs off 56 balls. They lost the match by 45 runs.
With this loss, now KXIP needs to win every match in order to qualify for the playoffs.
