The biggest controversy of this year’s Indian Premier League was the ‘Mankad’ incident that happened when Kings XI Punjab went against Rajasthan Royals. Jos Buttler left non-striker’s end even before the ball was delivered by Ashwin. Ashwin took off the bails and Buttler was declared out. Well, this was nothing sort of wrong but half of the cricketing fraternity suggested that it was against the spirit of the game.
Both Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab have the same sort of issues. Both the teams have an opener who is playing very well, both the teams suffer from mediocre performances from their middle-order and an average display from their bowling unit. It’s just that Kings XI Punjab has made fewer mistakes than Rajasthan Royals and hence they are on the 5th place at the points table while RR is second-last.
Moises Henriques and Arshdeep Singh were handed the cap earlier. While Arshdeep is making debut today, Henriques has injured himself just before the toss and hence he won’t be playing today’s match. David Miller has come in the place of Sam Curran.
For Rajasthan, Steven Smith has been replaced by Ashton Turner. Also, Stuart Binny and Ish Sodhi is back in the side.
