An upcoming feature in iOS 17 will make it much easier to locate your lost Apple Watch. However, you won’t be able to use it until this fall.
For the first time, users of the new feature will be able to quickly and easily ping their Apple Watch from the Control Center on their iPhone. You are good to go as long as the two devices are within Bluetooth range.
However, because this is an iOS 17 feature, you won’t be able to use it immediately. On June 5, Apple made the big news about the next major software update for the iPhone. However, it is not expected to ship to the rest of the world until September, along with the iPhone 15, assuming that Apple follows its usual release schedule.
The new feature can be found in the options of the iPhone’s Control Center, as described by YouTuber Zollotech. When enabled, the new Ping My Watch button in Control Center does exactly what it says it will: tap it, and your Apple Watch will sound to help you find it.
