FIH Pro League: At the Kalinga Stadium on Wednesday, the Indian men overcame adversity to record a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Germany for the second time in the FIH Pro League.
This came after Germany’s 4-1 victory over India in Tuesday’s first leg.
Rajinder Singh, one of the most impressive young players in the competition thus far, intercepted Harmanpreet’s free kick from outside the circle in the fourth minute and sent an unmarked Gurjant Singh through for the game’s lone goal. Rajinder has contributed significantly to the majority of India’s goals thanks to his astute positioning and flawless right-wing passing.
With the exception of the fourth quarter, when Germany launched a massive attack to tie the score, the home team dominated the majority of the game.
But Germany’s offensive attempts were thwarted by the Indian defense, which put on a determined show. The Indian defense held firm in the last quarter, even though Germany won five of their seven penalty corners.
But India only had two penalty corners, and they squandered both of them.India made Germany uneasy by playing high press hockey right away. The hosts seized the smallest opportunity to launch an offensive inside the German half.
