Bangladesh Announces 16-Member Squad For India Tour in IND Vs. BAN Test Series 2024

Bangladesh replaced Shoriful Islam with Jaker Ali Anik in their team for the forthcoming tour of India, following their historic 2-0 series victory in Pakistan. A 16-man roster was revealed on Thursday by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

On September 19, the first Test will take place at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai to begin the two-match series, which will be followed by three Twenty20 Internationals. The 2023–25 cycle of the ICC World Test Championship includes the Test series.

The following people: Jaker Ali Anik, Taskin Ahmed, Litton Das, Hasan Mahmud, Taijul Islam, Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Nayeem Hasan, Nahid Rana, Khaled Ahmed, Zakir Hasan, Mominul Haque, Mushfiqur Rahim, Shadman Islam, Shakib Al Hasan, Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

The 23-year-old Shoriful missed the second Test match against Pakistan, which was contested in Rawalpindi, due to a groin injury he sustained during the first match. Bangladesh defeated Pakistan in both games to win the series for the first time. The only difference from that squad is the absence of Shoriful.

Jaker Ali Anik has not yet appeared in an ODI or Test match, despite playing 17 T20Is. In 2023, the right-handed batter made his Asian Games debut. The 26-year-old is an attacking batsman who also has good wicket-keeping ability.
