Badminton Sudirman Cup 2025: India is Placed in Group D Alongside Denmark, England, and Indonesia

BWF Sudirman Cup Finals 2025, which will take place in Xiamen, China, from April 27 to May 4, the Badminton Association of India (BAI) has revealed a 14-member Indian team.

Among the world champion PV Sindhu, World Championship medalists Lakshya Sen and HS Prannoy, and the doubles duo of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, are the prominent members of the Indian team.

Five matches make up each Sudirman Cup tie: men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles.

16 teams will compete in the Sudirman Cup’s 19th edition. China, the hosts and reigning champions, were the top seeds in Group A, while the other four seeded teams were split up into other groups during the draw.

The People’s Republic of Korea, Japan, and Indonesia are ranked second, third, and fourth, respectively.

Group A: Hong Kong, Thailand, Algeria, and China
Group B: Canada, Czechia, Chinese Taipei, and South Korea
Group C: Australia, France, Malaysia, and Japan
Group D: Denmark, England, Indonesia, and India

Top-performing teams from the Asian and European mixed team Continental Championships, tournament hosts, and reigning champions are among the competing teams. According to their rankings, India earned a spot in the Sudirman Cup 2025.
