Badminton Asia Championships 2025: Dhruv-Tanisha Loses in the Quarterfinals

Tanisha Crasto and Dhruv Kapila lost in straight games on Friday in the mixed doubles quarterfinals of the Badminton Asia Championships in Ningbo, China.

The tournament’s Indian challenge ended along with their exit.

Tang Chun Man and Tse Ying Suet, the fifth-seeded team from Hong Kong, China, defeated world No. 18 Dhruv-Tanisha 20-22, 13-21 in 41 minutes.

The fifth-ranked player in the world rallied to tie the score at 10-10 after the Indian pair jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the opening game. During the second part of the first match, the two pairs were tied until 19-19. Tang and Tse then raced forward and won the game by converting their second point.

In the second game, Tang and Tse from Hong Kong, China outscored the Indians by eight points in a row from 9 to 9. Simply said, Dhruv and Tanisha couldn’t fill the gap.

The Indian badminton players will now get ready for the BWF Sudirman Cup Finals, which will take place from April 27 to May 4 in Xiamen, People’s Republic of China.
