Asian Champions Trophy Hockey: Timetable, Teams, and Information on Live Streaming

Hockey fans can expect another thrilling event in less than a month, the Asian Champions Trophy, following the conclusion of the Paris Olympics 2024. The biggest hockey tournament on the continent will take place in Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia, China, from September 8–17, 2024.

India is the event’s defending champion after winning the 2023 championship as the hosts thanks to a disciplined, undefeated performance in Chennai. Once more, they will compete for the top spot against Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, Japan, and the host nation, China.

Following PR Sreejesh’s retirement from international competition, Hockey India on Wednesday, August 28, announced an 18-man roster for the competition, with star drag-flicker Harmanpreet Singh leading the charge. Krishan Bahadur Pathak was presumably elevated to the position of primary goalie.

In the third-place match in Paris 2024, India defeated Spain 2-1, and the renowned Sreejesh gracefully withdrew his medal. This was his second consecutive Olympic bronze medal around his neck.

In lieu of Hardik Singh, who has been rested along with Mandeep Singh, Lalit Upadhyay, Shamsher Singh, and Gurjant Singh, veteran midfielder Vivek Sagar Prasad has been chosen vice captain.

Promising drag-flicker Jugraj Singh, who was in Paris as a backup, will also have a great opportunity to showcase his abilities with the scorching Harmanpreet in the Asian Champions Trophy.

This team consists of ten members of the Olympic Team from Paris.
