Back in June, we covered several upgrades coming to the Crypto.com Arena on LAKI, focusing on the changes coming to the home of the Kings this fall. Earlier today, the arena released a full-scale renovation plan, which includes changes to the building over the next three years.
Described as a “nine-figure investment,” the changes coming to Crypto.com Arena and L.A. LIVE’s Xbox Plaza will affect both, with a final completion date set for late 2024. The renewal will take place in three waves, including the first set. Opening night is scheduled to conclude on October 11. Below are some renderings of what some of the major renovations will look like when completed, along with descriptions provided by the building itself. As noted in a previous article, the Chariman’s Club and suite-level refresh, along with new LED panels, a renovated Impact Sports Bar and Grill, will be completed ahead of the 2022-23 season, which begins in less than two months. ‘Time. Other projects will be completed ahead of the 2023–24 season, including the club half of the tunnel, with the fully refurbished arena set to debut in the 2024–25 season. Coming in Phase 3 is the fully completed Tunnel Club, along with a new-look City View Terrace and main concourse suites.

City View Terrace
A reimagined City View Terrace with flexible indoor-outdoor dining and entertainment experiences where fans can eat, drink and socialize overlooking the expansive Downtown Los Angeles skyline to the north and the Arena Bowl to the south.
The Tunnel Club
The development of Crypto.com Arena’s first-ever multi-level tunnel club will feature new hospitality spaces and a special event level viewing experience that will offer select season ticket members and other VIP guests personal backstage windows to watch players and performers enter. And get out of their locker room.
President’s Club
An expanded and reimagined Chairman’s Club that will offer select season ticket members and VIP guests new benefits and experiences at Crypto.com Arena’s most private and pre-, during- and post-event location.
Main Concourse Suites
Creation of the arena’s first-ever Main Concourse Suites that will provide guests with premium seating’s closest view of the action on the court, ice or stage.
LED screen
Two new LED screens and ribbon board installations are visible in the upper and lower bowl seating areas.
Impact Sports Bar and Grill
A redesigned and upgraded Impact Sports Bar and Grill on the main concourse that will include a new food and beverage menu.
In addition, improvements to the main event will be marked by a completely new arrivals experience, as well as improvements to the upper level event with new food and other fan amenities. Remodeling of the dining areas in the Yamawa and Lexus Club, as well as other hospitality areas, on top of the refresh of the arena’s premium and suite level entrances, throughout the venue as well as the locker rooms of the Kings, Lakers and Sparks.
Beyond the renovations at the Crypto.com Arena, the project is L.A. LIVE will expand Xbox Plaza, with the goal of connecting the outdoor gathering space to the arena itself. The renovation will include two new state-of-the-art electronic outdoor marquees featuring the latest in LED and video technology.
The design and renovation of the arena will be overseen by the original architects, Dan Mees and Ron Turner, both of whom have worked with multipurpose sports and live entertainment experiences for the past two decades. The project reunites PCL Construction with AEG. Both these companies had earlier J.W. Worked together on many projects. Along with other professional sports facilities such as the Marriott Hotel Conference Center and the Olympic West Parking Structure, Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, CA.
