Rajasthan Royals will be ready to burst as the IPL – 2019 is around the corner. They are oneof the most inconsistent sides of IPL. They won the inaugural edition of IPL but since then they haven’t been at their best and also remained unsuccessful most of the time.
Let’s look at these three players who will be pivotal for them this year:-
Jos Butler:
Runs – 548
Average – 54.80
The 50s – 5
Strike Rate – 155.24
These are incredible stats from Jos Butler who is currently the best striker of the cricket ball.
Butler had a terrific IPL – 2018. He started as a middle-order batsman for Rajasthan Royals in the previous season, but when he got promoted to the top of the order, he just smashed it all over the park. He isan asset for the team. His current form adds more value to the team than ever.
Butler will again be important for RR as he was in the last season. Can he continue his staggering performances like he did last season? Can he make Rajasthan Royals the Champions this year? Well, he certainly can ifhe can perform like that again.
Ajinkya Rahane:
Runs – 370
Average – 28.46
The 50s – 1
Strike Rate – 118.21
After seeing these stats it could be termed as the below average or average season for a player like him. A veteran of many games in IPL will again lead the side this season. Even though they reached the playoffs last year, his performance was not satisfying for the team.Thefundamental reason why Rahane will be looking to go big this season is, as he still holds the outside chance of making into India’s World Cup squad. That thing should probably be in his mind and will make him more determined than ever.
Can he lead them well enough to clinch the title? Can he turn around his form into something big? With his experience and Captaincy, they surely can achievebig this time.
Steve Smith:
After missing the last edition of IPL, he will be raring to begin this season. Coming from the fixing scandal, it will be tough for him mentally, and now all he need is to start from the basics.
He hadn’t played any competitive cricket in the last one year. It will be an enormous challenge for him to perform and justify his reputation. Keeping in mind the World Cup, he would like to get in touch as well for his own sake. The number three spot for RR now is taken by him. He will provide the solidity and control to the team.
Can he fill the last year loopholes of RR? Can he become the backbone of their batting? He is a World-Class player, and he definitely can.
