Jamshedpur FC defeated host Mohammedan Sporting SC 2-0 on Thursday in an Indian Super League (ISL) 2024–25 match at the Kishore Bharati Stadium in this city, virtually guaranteeing a postseason berth.
Early in the first half, Ritwik Das gave Jamshedpur the lead, and late in the second half, replacement Nikhil Barla doubled it. With the victory, Jamshedpur maintained its third-place standings with 37 points from 21 games.
Mohammedan Sporting, on the other hand, dropped to the bottom of the 13-team league with 11 points after suffering its 14th defeat in 21 games.
After coming at the end of a Jamshedpur assault, Ritwik scored the first goal in the sixth minute to make his comeback from injury count.
Once Javi Hernandes’ side-volley rebounded off Mohammedan Sporting goalie Padam Chettri, the Jamshedpur winger found the opening.
The home team attempted to rebound after the change of ends, but their attempts to equalize failed because their attackers stumbled in the attacking zone. which contributed to changing the score once more when Imran Khan’s assist was converted by substitute Nikhil Barla.
