For the first time after recovering from an injury he suffered in May, sixth-seeded Srikanth is competing. During their last eight meetings, he has an even 4-4 head-to-head record against Angus Ng Ka Long against them.
In the round of 16, Angus—seeded second in the Macau Open—beat Pakkapon Teeraratsakul of Thailand by scores of 14-21, 21-8, and 21-9.
