IPL 2024: LSG vs MI Match Preview – Probable XIs, Head-to-Head, Pitch Report, and Fantasy XI

The Lucknow Super Giants have won all four of the IPL teams’ head-to-head meetings, defeating the Mumbai Indians 3-1.

The Mumbai Indians, the five-time past champions, will play the Lucknow Super Giants on Tuesday at Ekana Stadium. With 10 points in the bank, the KL-Rahul-led team is presently ranked No. 5. Conversely, MI is hanging on by a thread in the playoffs, as they are currently at No. 9 with six points.

In addition, the Super Giants will be hoping to resume their winning ways at home after suffering a setback to the table-toppers Rajasthan Royals last Saturday. LSG were defeated by unbeaten Sanju Samson (71 of 33 balls) and Dhruv Jurel (52 of 34) as RR took control of the game after they had amassed 196 runs thanks to powerful knocks from captain KL Rahul (76 off 48 balls) and Deepak Hooda (50 off 31 balls).

In another high-scoring match on Saturday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Hardik Pandya’s Mumbai fell short of their second straight loss to the advancing Delhi Capitals. With 84 runs off of 27 deliveries, Jake Fraser McGurk wowed the guests with a mesmerizing knock. Shai Hope and Tristian Stubbs also made quick cameos, helping Delhi total a massive 257 runs.

After losing to Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, and Rohit Sharma, the five-time past champions in the powerplay. Unfortunately, Tilak Verma, who scored 63 off 32 balls, teamed up with captain Hardik Pandya to sustain the team’s hopes. The team narrowly lost by 10 runs despite their heartfelt effort.

With just one defeat in their first four games, LSG got off to a great start in the IPL 2024 season. But out of the five games they have played so far, they have only been able to win two of them. Although MI’s chances of making the playoffs are still open, a victory over the hosts will give them brownie points in the standings.

Pitch Report

The Ekana Stadium’s slowness makes it a challenging surface. In the early stages of the game, the pitch helps both the medium pacers and the spinners. The team batting second has won five of the twelve games played at this location. In their most recent match, Lucknow was defeated by the brilliant Rajasthan Royals, who were able to overcome the hosts’ initial 196 run target.

Fantasy XI

Ishan Kishan (wk), Jasprit Bumrah (c), Marcus Stoinis, Tim David, Tilak Verma, Deepak Hooda, Ravi Bishnoi, Piyush Chawla, and Matt Henry
