Purple Cap IPL 2024: The Delhi Capitals (DC) vs. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) game on March 31 significantly altered the standings of the top 10 wicket-takers in the competition thus far. The player who scores the most runs in the competition receives the Orange Cap, while the player who takes the most wickets receives the Purple Cap. After the DC vs. CSK match, let’s see who is in the Top 10.
There are two bowlers on the CSK roster. At number five is Matheesha Pathirana (4 wickets, 60 runs in 8 overs). Still in first place is Mustafizur Rahman (7 wickets, 106 runs in 12 overs). There is a new entry for DC in the Top 10. With 88 runs in 12 overs, Khaleel Ahmed, the Player of the Match in the DC vs. CSK match, is ranked third.
Of the bowlers in the Top 10, three belong to Punjab Kings (PBKS). Position ten is occupied by Arshdeep Singh (4 wickets, 98 runs in 10.2 overs). Seventh place goes to Kagiso Rabada (4 wickets, 97 runs in 12 overs) and eighth place goes to Sam Curran (4 wickets, 68 runs in 8 overs). The Top 10 currently does not include Harpreet Brar.
In the current IPL tournament, two bowlers for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are ranked in the top 10. 9th place goes to Andre Russell. Although giving up 54 runs in 6 overs, he has already claimed 4 wickets. With five wickets so far and eight overs of 72 runs conceded, Harshit Rana is ranked fourth.
One bowler from Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) is currently ranked among the top ten. Pat Cumming, the captain, is ranked sixth with four wickets in 12 overs despite giving up 95 runs.
Gujarat Titans (GT), led by Mohit Sharma at number two, have swept into the Purple Cap list. He has conceded 93 runs in 12 overs while taking 6 wickets thus far.
