Bajrang Punia and Vinesh Phogat’s direct admittance for this year’s Asian Games is being contested by wrestlers Antim Panghal and Sujeet Kalkal in a case filed with the Delhi High Court.
The Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) was instructed by Justice Subramonium Prasad to submit its response today. On tomorrow, the matter will be heard.
Punia and Phogat’s exemption from the Asian Games trials has been contested by Panghal and Kalkal.
The event will take place in Hangzhou, China, between September 23 and October 8. The COVID-19 pandemic caused the event, which was initially slated to take place from September 10 to September 25, 2022, to be postponed.
