Tennessee Titans DL Jeffery Simmons signs a $94 million, four-year contract

Defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons and the Tennessee Titans have agreed in principle to a four-year extension.

According to sources, the $94 million contract includes a $24 million signing bonus and guarantees totaling $66 million.

Simmons tweeted, “We are not done yet. We have so much work to do!”

Simmons, who was scheduled to play on the $10.75 million fifth-year option, now has long-term security thanks to the agreement. When Ran Carthon arrived in Tennessee in January, his top priority was to sign Simmons to the extension.

Despite missing the last eight games with an injured ankle, Simmons recorded 7.5 sacks last season. The 25-year-old made his second Pro Bowl last season. He has been named second-team All-Pro twice.

The Titans selected Simmons with the No. 19 overall pick in the 2019 draft. In his four seasons with the Titans, Simmons has recorded 21 sacks, 28 tackles for loss, and 46 quarterback hits.
