After successfully chasing down the 205-run goal in just 38.5 overs, the Australia Women, captained by Alyssa Healy, won the first ODI in Sydney by four wickets. Because of her overall effort during the game, Ashleigh Gardner was chosen Player of the Match.
The hosts overcame England by 21 runs in the second One-Day International, despite only defending a respectable 180-run total. After taking four wickets, Alana King was named Player of the Match.
During the game, Kim Garth also took three wickets. England’s Amy Jones, who was still undefeated at the crease, was unable to receive assistance from the opposition.
Australia has already won two of the ODI matches and collected four points. England still has a chance to recover and win the Women’s Ashes series for the first time since 2013 with four white-ball matches remaining before a red-ball match.
